World hunger. Because the problem is so big, we often think that we can’t do anything about it. However, an HSM Hunger Challenge provides a personal, tangible way for individuals, churches and families to help solve this problem. During a four-day Hunger Challenge event, 1,000 volunteers come together in two-hour shifts to assemble packages of nutritious dehydrated food product that will fill a 40 foot shipping container with more than 200,000 life-sustaining meals. Heaven Sent Ministries distributes the finished meals through established, compassionate Christian missionaries all over the world. All meals are given freely in the name of Jesus Christ.
hun·ger [huhng-ger] noun 1. a compelling need or desire for food 2. the painful sensation or state of weakness caused by the need of food: to collapse from hunger. 3. a shortage of food; famine.
chal·lenge [chal-in] noun 1. a call or summons to engage in any contest, as of skill, strength, etc. 2. something that by its nature serves as a call to battle, contest, special effort, etc. 3. a call to fight, as a battle, a duel, etc. 4. a demand to explain, justify, etc.
One individual, in just two hours and for just $65, can personally prepare 216 meals for starving families.
This is perhaps the most personal, tangible, hands-on way that you will ever be able to feed a starving child.
The next hands to touch the package of food you put together will be the hands of a starving child.
