This is a wonderful opportunity to serve Christ in an English speaking country. There are a range of ministry opportunities. Examples include helping those who have lost their jobs due to the economic downturn and need food, clothes and to be shown God's love. It is also possible to visit the 'outback' and work along side ministries who share the Gospel with the Aborigines. The local church is also involved with an 'after schools program' where children are fed but also taught from God's word. Also, a new "Kid's Club" has been established with the focus on reaching out to non-churched children many who come from challenging home backgrounds.
There is a serious need for youth ministry and for quality musicians and worship leaders to assist the local churches in winning the youth for Christ

Please remember that you will be traveling in a foreign country. Things do not always go as we plan. Flights get delayed, immigration doesn't go as smoothly as we hope, busses are late, the orphanage you wanted to visit may not be taking visitors the day you are available. The best way to handle this is to be flexible.
Keep in mind that you are there to serve the missionaries and assist them in their ministry. Allow God to work through you, not for you. In the end, you will have a greater experience than you could ever imagine.
