 Heaven Sent Ministries was created in September 1997. Responding to a need to help people experience short-term missions, the nonprofit organization began as a facilitating agency helping to obtain passports, visas and other paperwork required for traveling to other countries. As the agency grew, HSM began to lead trips to places like Guatemala, Nicaragua, Africa and India. Over the years, the mission of HSM has expanded to include pastor training, church construction, feeding programs and medical missions. People from all over the country have joined under the umbrella of Heaven Sent Ministries to travel abroad. A domestic arm of the ministry called OperationSHARE was started in 2005. This ministry utilizes the help of visiting mission teams and local churches to reach out to the people of Appalachia. In 2008, OperationSHARE ventured out into disaster relief assistance. Our goal there is to partner with churches in areas that have been hit by natural disasters such as floods, tornadoes and hurricanes. Our operating instructions are fairly simple; we look to see where God is working and join Him there. Our aim is to assist the church, not replace it, in reaching the world for Christ.
